Hardware Designer
Job Description: Hardware Designers are responsible for all aspects of designing electronics for new product development projects or providing lifecycle support on existing products. They are an integral member of cross-functional project teams that ensure customer requirements, both internal and external, are met. Typical designs might include microprocessor-based controllers, display clusters, display terminals, sensors, etc. Duties and Responsibilities: Review and understand customer requirements and specifications; Estimate the effort required to complete development / support activities; Develop and / or revise product specifications that meet customer expectations, based on customer requirements; Generate schematics and other product related documentation; Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEAs, etc; Work closely with internal and external customers and with suppliers to resolve technical issues; Plan and perform product evaluation activities throughout the development process. This could also involve the supervision of technologists; Monitor Design Verification Testing (DVT) progress and results and provide technical support to DVT (help generate the DV Test Plan, for example). Location: Winnipeg, Canada. Salary: CAD 65,000.00 per year.
Technology Analyst
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manages the Enterprise applications. Installs and maintains the hardware and operating system for the platforms that support our main database machines; Manages the servers / Remote Desktop Services that provide the user interface for all of our Enterprise level applications; Test and install patches and fixes for security bugs in vendor and internal software; Analyzes new system requirements and determines the best IT technologies to use for the new system. This included staying current on all technology trends to make recommendations on what technologies to utilize; Alternate Network (Lan & Wan) Administer, assists in design, implementation and maintenance of the network to meet our company's data needs; Coordinate, design, and implement all installs and upgrades to major Enterprise systems that operate on all hardware and operating system platforms; Orchestrate the use of Metaframe / Remote Desktop Services technology to enhance the users experience on Enterprise systems; Coordinate with users, application developers, operations to monitor and ensure the Enterprise systems are available as required by service level agreements. Education, Experience and Certifications Required: BS Degree in Computer Science / Business Administration or equivalent experience; Training and practical experience in System Administration; Five years experience within industry as practitioner.
