Communications Specialist
The Communications Specialist will be a dynamic communications professional responsible for writing and editing communications including brochures, newsletters, cultivation letters, annual reports, special event pieces, website content, fundraising materials, and other communications. This position will coordinate production of materials from conception, design, print, and distribution. Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively through writing. The position will work closely with internal teams and report directly to the Director of Marketing. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
collaborate with internal team members to create fundraising materials including newsletters, appeals, annual reports, brochures, and other collateral; execute communications objectives with strategic direction from Marketing Director; create web content in alignment with organization's mission and purpose; assist with email, social media, and print communications to diverse target audiences; write and submit press releases and coordinate with media; provide information, stories, and quotes to media as appropriate; maintain and organize marketing files; available to travel locally for organization purposes; participate in staff development and fundraising events; perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of daily job duties by direct supervisor. Associate Editor
If you are a smart, creative and skilled writer and copyeditor with a natural multi-tasking instinct and a fear of boredom. You are great under pressure, independent but you know when to ask the right questions. You are driven, organized and detailed oriented. You are web-savvy; in fact, you love social media and have experience with Facebook, Twitter, content management systems and WordPress. You have journalism experience and you can write everything from punny headlines to pithy blurbs to long-form news features (if you cant, you are ready to learn). You have a nose for news. You have some experience with Adobe Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. You have potential: You may not have a ton of experience but you are ready to dive into the magazine world. You know your AP style.The associate editor is responsible for updating and maintaining the calendar of events on the web and in print; uploading articles to the website and managing the YS Facebook and Twitter sites; assisting the graphics department on deadline; research, copy-editing and facts - checking; writing news features, monthly features and special sections as assigned; and assisting the editor in chief with various tasks for the magazine and website. Wedding Videographer
We are looking for a talented, artistic, dependable person to work as second shooter for our wedding videography services. We have the necessary equipment (canon DSLR) but if you have your own DSLR you use for video, that is great too. Work will be occasional Saturdays mostly through summer.. There may be some weekday evenings too.You must have samples of your own work, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and most of all you must take pride in what you do and deliver a great looking end product. We will do all the editing, although if you are interested in editing this could be negotiated too.There is also the opportunity for work on other projects as the need arises (music videos, corporate videos and other live events) but the initial need is for a wedding videographer.You must have previous experience using a DSLR for video purposes. Location: Montreal, Canada. Salary: CAD20 per hour.
