You are unique. No matter what your job or career, whether you were previously the executive director of a large international company, or a factory worker, your skills and work experience are proper to you only. Your past career's performance in sales, marketing, computing, technology; your language abilities, your social skills, your workload capacity are a combination that make you wanted. And somewhere, there is an international company desperately looking for someone exactly like you and that wants to give them a job.

It is a proven and uncon-tested fact that newspaper advertisements and publi-shed job offers account only for a very minor part of recruitings. Most job seekers find a career by applying spontaneously. Write down compa-nies that you would like to work for, and submit your job application. Explain why you are interested in working with them (do not hesitate to flatter them, but without excess!), what you could offer them if they give you a job, how flexible and adaptable to a new career you are.

There is not one unique way of applying; just use your common sense and your intuition to assess how it should be done in that particular case. In some instances, a telephone call is best; in some others, a short letter or email and a succinct resume (don't make it the story of your life!) are better.

There are plenty of companies all over the world that are currently searching employees and executives with your skills for a new career! The more flexible you are, the better job choice you are going to get; but if you do have some geographical and practical restrictions, you still have good chances to find a job by using a spontaneous application.
